Robert is from a small town in Blain, PA and served in the USMC during Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan. He was discharged for traumatic brain injury resulting from IED blast exposure (improvised explosive device). He also suffers from PTSD and every day it is a fight for him.
He moved to Philadelphia, PA (he is not used to the big city life). He moved here alone to finish aviation mechanical school and didn’t know anyone at the time. Even with the PTSD, he helps anyone he can by going to shelters and works food drives during the holidays for families who cannot provide for their own. Rob says, “it gives you a feeling that you cannot explain – knowing you helped a family around the holidays or any day. It definitely soothes the soul. There is nothing like helping people and that is what I feel like I was called to do with my life”.
